In this second article about birds, bird watching and how to get
them to flock to your humble abode, we’re going to focus on how
to get a flock of birds by planting certain flowers in your
garden.
It isn’t so much the flowers themselves that the birds are after
but the seeds that these flowers produce. After all, this is
what these birds eat and a hungry bird will never turn its back
on a tasty seed. Well, there are certain flowers that produce
seeds that birds are most after. We’ll take a look at some of
these.
Probably the most popular flower for attracting birds and the
most successful is the King sunflower. Birds are absolutely
crazy about sunflower seeds. That’s why passionate bird feeders
go out and buy bags of this stuff that are so heavy they can
just about carry them.
Sunflowers themselves have become a very big business because of
this. A bird flying over North or South Dakota would literally
see thousands of acres of sunflowers, a very large portion of
which is grown especially for bird seed. People from all over
the United States buy these seeds, which makes this one of the
largest industries in the Dakotas.
When planting your sunflowers at home try to plant them in an
area that will get full direct sunlight. If possible try to make
this also close to a window. You’ll get a steady view of hungry
birds coming down to feast.
If you don’t want to use all your seeds in the summer and want
to save some for winter to feed what birds may still be around,
what you do is put a paper grocery sack over each seed head and
tie it around the stem. Leave some of the flower heads uncovered
so that the hungry birds will not try to peck through the paper.
After the seed heads have dried cut them from the stems and
place them in metal containers. This keeps the mice from getting
to them. This will keep your seeds safe for winter feeding.
Other garden flowers that birds love are cosmos, snapdragon,
zinnia, cockscomb, aster, and larkspur. After these flowers have
bloomed don’t cut off their heads. Let them dry right where they
are. When winter comes your flowers will bloom again and with
them will come a flock of finches and cardinals.
Now, if you’re trying to attract hummingbirds the best flowers
to plant are any nectar producing flowers, especially if they’re
red, pink or orange. Some of the hummingbird’s favorites are
honeysuckle, columbine, coral-bells, impatiens, foxglove, and
red penstemon. In the summer, hummingbirds go crazy over scarlet
bergamot, cardinal flower, hosta, gladiolus, salvia, and trumpet
vine.
Hummingbirds like a nice drink with their seeds so make sure you
have a bird feeder near by where they can quench their thirst. A
good feeder is one that attaches to your window with suction
cups. And don’t worry about standing at the window when they
come. They’ll plop down for a drink even with you staring right
at them.
So if you’re into bird watching and gardening this is a good way
to kill two birds with one stone. No pun intended.

If you have unprotected sex with a person who is having sex with someone else, you are at extraordinarily high risk for getting venereal diseases, that can make you sick and even kill you. A report from Johns Hopkins shows that 25 percent of girls between 12 and 19 who show up at school-based sexually transmitted disease clinics are infected with chlamydia, a venereal disease that causes infertility, pelvic infections, miserable urinary symptoms, joint pains, a sore throat, a cough, heart attacks and even death. Previous studies show that 50 percent of young people with more than three sexual partners a year have sexually transmissible diseases and 40 percent of sexually active adolescent females in one large American city have the venereal diseases, chlamydia or gonorrhea.
The most common causes of burning on urination and discomfort when the bladder is full are venereal diseases. If you feel that you have to urinate all the time, have discomfort when your bladder is full, get up in the middle of the night to urinate, have spotting between periods, feel like there is a hair in your urinary tube or have unexplained pelvic pain, you may have a venereal disease that may be curable with antibiotics. You should get urine and vaginal cultures and tests for venereal diseases. If none is found but you are sexually active and you have symptoms, both you and your partner still should be treated with the newer erythromycins or tetracyclines for several weeks. If you still have symptoms, you need a thorough evaluation by a physician trained in evaluating urinary tract infections.

Creativity – according to Webster’s it means having the ability or power to create; characterized by originality and expressiveness; imaginative. Ok that sounds great, wouldn’t we all like to be more creative every day? Sometimes the hardest part to trying something new is the first step. Here are nine inspired steps to help you start living a creative way of life:
1. Be willing to try something new.
When was the last time you stepped out of your everyday routine and did something totally different? Taking a dance class, going to a concert to experience something different than what you normally listen to on the radio, or even picking up a pencil and sketching the trees in your own backyard is creative action. Creative thinking and creative action start with a new decision about how you’re going to spend your time.
2. Create something with your own hands on a regular basis.
There are plenty of opportunities to express your creative side. Even mundane tasks like setting the table allow you to try something new. For example, instead of buying new napkin holders, my daughter and I made our own out of some extra wire and brightly colored beads. They turned out awesome. We were both so proud of them and they are treasured pieces we will use for years.
3. Express yourself through visual, performing arts, or creative writing, music, or dance.
You can turn off the television and do some creative journaling every evening instead of tuning in and shutting down. Create a play with the kids. Try lip synching to a new video on television. Take turns creating a different ending to a familiar fairy tale. Use your imagination.
4. Make creativity a habit.
If you already dabble in creativity, make it a habit by scheduling time on your calendar for it. You’re more likely to live creatively if you actively write down your intentions. You don’t even have to sign up for a formal class. Try it for 30 minutes every week and increase the time spent on these activities from there.
5. Display something in your home and office that you made yourself.
Your surroundings reflect your ideas. What better way to inspire more creativity, charm, and character than to include objects that you have made? Hand-made objects give you more to talk about, more vivid memories, and provide richer experiences overall than buying something similar. Over time it is also a visual reminder of how far you’ve come since your first started creating.
6. Visit creative spaces
Museums, art shows, gallery exhibits, theatre, performances these places remind us of our own innate creative abilities. Plus they’re fun to visit.
7. Take time to find new inspiration
Inspiration can be found in a variety of different places. Ask people you’ve known for years what creative stuff they do – you may be pleasantly surprised. Research within your own family. I bet you’ll find someone in your family that is artistic and can be a source of inspiration for you.
8. Ask Questions
Stay involved with other creative people. Inspire others with questions about their progress in their own endeavors. Something they say to you could provide you with an idea that moves you in a new direction.
9. Provide a creative outlet for someone that is new to the idea of living creatively
Just when you’ve figured out some new ways to live creatively, share your knowledge. Give the information away to someone who is totally new to the ideas. They will undoubtedly have a twist on your information that allows you to learn something new and keep growing.

This article has the 9 steps you will need to take to have a
Profitable Online Home Business! Some “Internet Guru’s” will
disagree with me, as they think that there are only 8 steps, but
they seem to forget about the most important step of all.
“Learning” Learning what it is all about, it’s more then just
finding/having a product or service to put on a website and just
watch the cash roll in.
Unfortunately, when submitting articles, I’m limited the amount
of words I can use and links I can provide, but if you wish to
read the full-version of this article with the links, please
visit my website below and click on the 9 Steps button located
to the left hand side of you screen.
Even though finding your niche and having good content on your
site for your customers and search engines is very important,
there are some other very important things that are being
neglected. Learning to find the right Keywords and how to
advertise your site correctly is a big key to your success
online, don’t get me wrong, it’s important but not impossible.
These steps can be done no matter who you are, if you have your
own product/services, if you have some ideas for your own
product/services but need help creating them, or if you just
want to promote someone else’s product/services as an affiliate,
these are all profitable as long as you learn how to do them
correctly. You really don’t have to be a salesperson to make
money online, I’m not!
If you follow the steps below, you will be far ahead of most
people trying to make money on the Web, including me when I
started, as this information is a result of many years of trail
and error, many hour of research. I wanted to share it with you,
because I don’t want you to have to go through the same
difficulties as many others and I have done.
One more thing before I reveal to you your 9 steps to start a
profitable online home business, I want to “squash” a myth
started by the “spammers/scammers”. Being profitable online is
not “free”. It takes some investment, time to learn (time is
money), small money investment to get started (purchase a domain
name, web hosting, advertising $, etc…).
Again, don’t get me wrong, having an Online Home Business is the
easiest, fastest and most inexpensive way to have a home
business or to have the multi-streams of income roll in, but I
want you to have the honest truth about it, so you don’t get
disappointed when you don’t make a million $ over night and with
no investment.
9 Steps
1.Learning the basics- Like anything you have to learn how
things work and what the rules are. The Internet is very
different from the “Traditional brick and mortar” business. Even
though there are some similarities with both of them, in an
offline business, you are limited by location and local
competition. On the Internet, you can reach people round the
world and there is more competition, but nothing you can’t
handle. There is plenty for everybody.
So it is essential that you that learn the basics of selling
products/services online first, then go to the next step. How do
you do this? My favorite is reading e-books and Audios. You can
find the one’s I suggest at the links below or you can do a
search on the Internet. Just be careful in doing this as there
are some so call “Internet Guru’s” that are only interested in
make the money, not teach you how to do the same.
2.Next, after you have got the basics down and under your belt,
then we move on to finding your niche market. Finding a niche is
very important and seeing if it will be profitable, just because
you are interested in it doesn’t mean that anyone else is.
The best way to do this is “surf” the web. Pick a topic that you
know about or are interested in and see if others share your
interests. Check out the site that are the top ten and see if
they relate to what your are wanting to promote and maybe able
to become an affiliate with or if you can improve on their
product or service, etc… Do your research.
3.This step is very important as well, researching and finding
the products or services you want to promote. If you didn’t find
what you were looking for in the above step, then here’s another
chance to do so. This can be done a couple ways.
Dropshippers/wholesalers, if you plan to create your own Website
and affiliate programs if you just want to promote other peoples
website links, both are a great way to find products.
4.Next, if you have decide to have your own website, then you
need to buy a domain name. You can do a search on the Internet.
Pick a domain name that is related to your product/services or
your niche market.
5.Now, you will need to find a Web host. Not to difficult there,
you can find the one I suggest at my link below or you can do a
search on the Internet. Just make sure you do the research and
that the one you pick can provide everything you need to promote
your product/services.
6.You can do this next step one of two ways. Take classes in
Professional Web design and buy expensive Web design software or
use an “easy to use” Web builder that most Web hosting companies
will provide for free, that will give you the same results as
the professional Web design will. I like the second choice as it
is like a plug and play version.
7.If you are going to have a Website than you don’t want to miss
this step. Build a opt-in list and write your own newsletter to
keep in touch with your visitors/customers. Autoresponders work
great for this.
8.This step and the next step have to do with advertising. Free
advertising is there, you just have to know where to look, but
it’s not totally free as you do have to spend your time with it.
I have a great article on my site that shows you how to do this,
it’s called “Free advertising”, good title huh!
9.Now, for the fastest way to get visitors to your site is to
get listed with the pay-per-click search engines. Overture,
Google adword, and Kanoodle are good for this. Google Adword is
the only one that you do not have to have your own landing page
to promote with them, you can just have it go directly to you
affiliate link.
*tips- When surfing the internet in the above steps search for
things like “best Web Hosting”, “Web Hosting”, “buy domain
name”, “need domain name”, etc…
So there you have it! The 9 steps to start your own profitable
online business. Get started today so you can start reaping the
rewards of your own business and stop working for the other guy.
Don’t forget to get the full-version of this article filled with
more detailed advice and links just for you.
Best of luck on your success,
Veronica Bath

The long anticipated newest version of MIVA Merchant is now available. Version 5 is a dramatic shift from previous versions to a new paradigm that makes store creation and maintenance easier and more powerful for the end user. Many tasks that currently require third party modules and possibly a developer’s help are now implemented into the main system.
MIVA Small Businessoration, known for having a strong third party developer community, broke with tradition for this version by asking the third party developers themselves for their thoughts and opinions during development. “It was quite exciting working with our third-party development community, and gratifying to be able to implement their suggestions,” said James Waters, MIVA Senior Software Developer. “Our commitment to incorporating feedback is part of what makes MIVA Merchant a best-of-breed product.”
Most significant in version 5 is a new template-based design system MIVA calls “Store Morph Technology.” Each store page has a template that can be edited directly in the administrative area. You can display what you need, hide what you don’t, and control the look and placement of buttons, products, category lists and other components. The following is MIVA’s description of this technology:
What is Store Morph Technology?
Store Morph Technology (SMT) is a completely new store design system created exclusively for MIVA Merchant 5. It provides complete control over the look and feel of your online store.
With SMT, you control the layout and content of each store page. Move buttons, change labels, drop in custom components, and more. Every page of your MIVA Merchant 5 online store can be customized to suit your business needs.
What can I do with Store Morph Technology?
Use SMT to control what each page displays, and how it is formatted.
For example, put a search box on your navigation bar. Then customize how that search box looks, what the search button says, and where the search results are displayed.
You can completely change the layout of any of your online store pages. Move the category tree to the right side of the page–or just remove it altogether.
The power is in your hands with Store Morph Technology, making your MIVA Merchant 5 online store truly customized for your business.
How do I use Store Morph Technology?
There is nothing additional to install or purchase. SMT is integrated throughout the MIVA Merchant 5 administration interface. When you begin designing your store, SMT controls will be easily accessible.
Detailed instructions are available at the click of a button, providing helpful insight and guidelines into harnessing the power of Store Morph Technology.
What does Store Morph Technology mean for your site? First, you now have much more control of the look and feel of your site without needing third party modules. Second, once a template is saved, it is compiled, meaning when a page loads for your customer, it does not have to “create itself” as current dynamic pages do. The difference can be between a multi-second page load and less than a second page load. And that means happier customers who stay at your site longer.
“We are really excited about our breakthrough Store Morph Technology. It enables businesses to easily create their own unique, professional look and specialized functionality,” commented James Harrell, MIVA Director of Software Development. “MIVA Merchant 5 offers a professional alternative to ready-made ’starter’ stores. We are looking forward to seeing the results of our customers’ creative applications of this new technology.’
MIVA Merchant 5 now supports multiple database formats. The default is MIVA Small Business’s new proprietary database format named MIVA-SQL. An alternative is the widely used MySQL database format. Both are much faster and more stable than previous MIVA Merchant versions. You don’t need to understand anything about the databases, though, just know that the new system has blazing download speeds and more stability. MIVA Merchant users will understand this – no more packing your data all the time! And, while prior versions didn’t perform well with more than a few thousand products, with the new database formats there are no limitations to the number of products and categories in a store.
MIVA Merchant 5 now allows updates at a click of a button. Previously, the update process involved downloading the newest patches, and running a complicated, multi-step update process. Most users either never updated, or relied on their hosts to do it for them. “The new software updating process is so simple now. It’s going to save businesses time and frustration – absolutely painless,” according to MIVA Software Developer Alex Kruglyak. Kruglyak also mentioned MIVA Merchant 5’s new product, category and customer import/export technologies, saying, “[the] improved import/export functionality means store owners can easily load their product database into MIVA Merchant.”
“Creating MIVA Merchant 5 has involved mastering some interesting technical challenges,” according to Q Jackson, MIVA Software Developer. “The new database technology makes MIVA Merchant 5 stores quick and responsive, for a better shopping experience.”
This version upgrade is really a whole new platform, with no easy upgrade path from previous versions, so stores that are running smoothly on MIVA Merchant 4 may wish to wait a while before upgrading. Keep your eyes open for the latest news, and only consider upgrading when you see features offered by MIVA Merchant 5 that are not available for your current store. The good news is you can keep your MIVA Merchant 4 site running while you work on the new version.
Most third party module developers are working furiously to create modules, or update their version 4 modules, for version 5. The first step is duplication of MIVA Merchant 4 modules, followed by new functionality which takes advantage of the new technologies behind MIVA Merchant 5. Expect many new improvements to come quickly from MIVA Small Business, too, as the quick updates make updating so much easier.
MIVA Small Business charges for support with support plans from $399 to $999 per year. However, many users get the help they need from the very active user community accessible through an email user list hosted by MIVA Small Business. They have a list just for MIVA Merchant 5 users, as well as for MIVA Merchant 5 template developers and module developers. The template list demonstrates MIVA’s expectation that the new Store Morph Technology will spawn a third party market for entire site templates. When this occurs, a store will be able to change look and feel with a few quick steps and little or no down time.
Vital Info: MIVA Merchant 5 Full Version: $995. MIVA Merchant 5 Upgrade from Version 4: $399. See http://smallbusiness.miva.com for a list of hosts that support MIVA Merchant 5.
(MIVA Merchant and Store Morph Technology are Trademarks of MIVA, Inc.)

When people go to purchase a treadmill, one of the first questions they ask is “Do I want a manual or motorized treadmill?”
What’s the difference between the two?
The Basic Difference:
With a manual (or non-motorized) treadmill, you push the belt with your feet. The action of your feet against the treadmill moves the belt.
With a motorized treadmill you keep pace as the treadmill motor moves the belt for you at a pace you set electronically.
Advantages & Disadvantages:
Manual treadmills:
Tend to be cheaper (since you’re not paying for the motor) and can range from $200 to $600.
They also tend to be smaller, take up less space and are easier to move (since they aren’t as heavy as a motorized treadmill).
Some people have theorized that manual treadmills burn more calories than motorized treadmill since you supply the power to move the belt.
This is unfortunately NOT TRUE.
Because you supply the power, unless you are in top athletic shape, you will tend to move slower and get tired more easily. This results in LESS calories burned on a manual treadmill.
Plus, the action of getting the belt to move initially and keep it moving can cause a strain on your joints.
It’s also difficult to run on a manual treadmill so if you want to start a jogging program or train as a runner, a manual treadmill would not meet your needs.
Motorized treadmills:
Tend to be more expensive and can range from $800 up to $8000. However, they tend to last longer and are built to take more of a beating.
Also, because the belt moves for you at varying speeds, this motivates you to keep up and actually results in more calories burned (vs. a manual treadmill).
You can easily adjust the speed and incline on most motorized treadmills, usually while still on the machine. This makes it much more convenient and saves the strain on your joints.
A final advantage to the motorized treadmills is that they tend to have more options and features (iFit compatibility, numerous built-in workout programs, scrolling information consoles). This makes your workout more interesting and possibly even enjoyable as you can watch your progress.
This means that you will probably USE the treadmill more often which again results in more calories burned and a better body achieved.
The Final Conclusion:
Unless you’re in extremely good physical shape, a manual treadmill is not recommended. Choose a motorized treadmill for maximum calorie burning and exercise convenience.
The biggest motivation to choose a manual treadmill is the low cost. However, you can find a quality motorized treadmill for a relatively low cost if you know where to look.
Regardless of what you choose remember to have fun and commit yourself to a better, healthier you!

Leaders from four top telecom and entertainment companies gave keynote speeches at the recent TelecomNext trade show in Las Vegas.
The CEOs of Verizon Communications, Time Warner Cable, Walt Disney Co., and NTT all seemed to agree that increasing levels of convergence and user choice is putting the future of telecom firmly in the hands of consumers.
“We’re seeing a great shift in how consumers spend money, and our business models need to be flexible,” said Disney CEO, Robert Iger. “It used to be said that content was king, but the consumer is king.”
Verizon CEO, Ivan Seidenberg, meanwhile, cited his company’s multibillion dollar investment in building an FiOS fiber optic network, which has been driven almost entirely by strong consumer demand. The network will eventually be used to deliver both broadband and digital video service to at speeds of up to 100 Mbps.
Markets where Verizon’s FiOS service has already been deployed have averaged an impressive 14% penetration rate, almost overnight, a number that the company hopes to further improve upon in the years to come.
“The marketplace is telling us that there’s a great opportunity out there,” Seidenberg said. “And we are investing to get ourselves on the right side of the big ideas that will push our industry forward.”
Another topic that came up repeatedly in the speeches was the danger of excessive government regulation.
“No matter how appealing government regulation may sound, it will be bad for my business, bad for your business, and bad for consumers,” Iger commented in his address. “Consumers will be paying more for less choice. The free market is working. There’s not policy justification for the government getting involved in how TV offerings should be structured.”
Time Warner CEO, Glenn Britt, also voiced concerns about over-regulation, saying that providers in this new era of telecommunications shouldn’t be regulated in the same ways as telephone companies of the past. “Regulations should be used judiciously,” he argued. “You can expect us to oppose any regulation that tilts toward one side.”

In electronic repair, most of the time i came across five band resistor color code. The purpose
of using the five colour band resistor in a circuit is that it provide a more accurate
value compare to the four color band. For example in order to get the value of 22.6kohm,
with four colors band resistor you will not be able to find it. The most you can get is 22k
(red, red, orange and gold). If with the five color band you will be able to calculate it
(red, red, blue, red, brown)the last color which is brown represent 1% tolerance. You may go to
google search engine and type resistor color code, resistor color coding, resistor color code
calculator, or resistor color code chart to know more about how to calculate a five band resistor
values.
If you open up an analog multimeter you will understand what i mean. Most of the resistor circuit inside
the multimeter are using five color band. Why? Because the reading that you get whenever you measure current,
voltage or ohm, the panel will show the nearest value. For instance, if you measure a 9v battery
the needle will point to may be 8.9v,9v,or 9.1 volt. If that particular multimeter was designed
using four color band resistor the result that it gets may be 8.5v,9.5v or even 10 volt. In other
words the use of five color band resistor is to make a circuit more precise and output the desire
result as what the engineers want it to be.
There’s a interesting five color band resistor which is unique.
In fact i have already seen quite a number of them. I will reveal the calculation about this
unique five color band resistor. The colors are orange, orange, red, gold, white.
Actually it is a four color band resistor. Just ignore the white color and proceed to calculate
using the four color band formula. As to why the resistor manufacturers add this ‘extra’ white
band i really do not know. However, from forum someone said that it is for the military purposes.
If you know the answer i would like you to email me so that i can share with other fellow
electronic repairer thru this info repairing newsletter.

The Hero’s Journey is the template upon which the cast majority of successful screenplays are built upon. Films as diverse as Gladiator (2000), Million Dollar Baby (2004), Raging Bull (1980) and Scarface (1983) were all constructed around the Hero’s Journey Template.
The Character Arc takes the hero though four major stages of change: overcoming the refusal, the transformation, the rebirth through death and the apotheosis.
Through all of the above stages the hero subtly changes or transforms.
Following the truism: “I am how I act and behave as opposed to what I say,” a hero’s transformation is indicated by doing.
One excellent example of transformation is John Dunbar in Dances with Wolves (1990). And it is a subtle and delicate process of change.
John rides into the Indian village dressed proudly as a US soldier and carrying the US flag. Gradually and through the symbollic actions of slowly removing pieces of his clothing and exchanging them for Indian items, he transforms from US soldier to proud Sioux, eventually rejecting his Old Self.
Initially the change is resisted (he wants to keep his hat), but finally he melts into the Indian landscape like a natural.
Language, in this story, is another marker of change. Initially, John’s grasp of Sioux is non-existent but post his rebirth, he is a master of it.
