Courtney Sale Ross invests her time, money, and efforts in providing quality education; she supports a distinctive model for education reform aimed at helping children face the challenges of the 21st century. In pursuit of her vision, Ross founded the Ross School, Ross Global Academy, and the Ross Institute.
The Ross School is the only private K-12 school in the Hampton and its school model encompasses a global integrated and interdisciplinary curriculum that is based on world cultures organized sequentially around a spiral, with cultural history at its core, but incorporated with other subjects. The model also includes mentoring, peer teaching, collaborative learning, on-site learning, and a holistic approach to educating students about health and nutrition. The children receive high quality instruction where they are taught several languages as well as skills and multiple approaches necessary to surmount the challenges of the 21st century. Students are equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as multimedia-capable laptops for all students. Learning is sometimes done outside the campus, including traveling to other countries such as Greece and China.
The program serves students from various backgrounds and academic abilities including students with special needs as well as those who are English language learners.
Ross Global Academy is a public charter school in New York that was established through the collaborative efforts of Courtney Sale Ross, The Ross School and New York University’s Steinhardt’s School. The school offers holistic education and a spiral curriculum based on the Ross School model.
