Laxton is a small rural village in N. Nottinghamsire, dating from the Norman Conquest of 1066.
Visitors can visit the the site of the old castle at the northern edge of the village, and witness the regions best preserved motte and bailey castle.
You can also go to the beautiful, and attractive, village church which dates back from 1190 and is still regularly used to this day.
Nevertheless, what makes the village of Laxton really unusual is its use today of the open farming system.
