The profit margin is also shrinking, as there are many players in the market and as the customers are demanding more connectivity within the flat-fee structure. French operator SFR finds that chatting on a mobile phone uses 450 times less bandwidth than when a laptop is connected to the net through a mobile internet network.

In spite of these hurdles, the overall picture is not gloomy. New technology is being used on trial basis, which will help in providing better services. Capital investment in the industry is on the rise. This is going to help telecom providers to improve their network and cope up with the present growth rate.
