A Life of Creation: Mr Nicholas Bredimus

A major change in hospitality and airline travel was touched off by Nicholas Bredimus, who led them to the computer industry to develop new procedures. This creative man has worked in several areas, from the luxury home design market through an advancement of safety in the air and software to help with time management.

Looking at Nicholas Bredimus‘ family tree you can easily predict he was certain to reach greatness. Coming together from a true melting pot, his kindred can be traced to Antiquity, with the maternal side predominantly German and Scottish. The paternal line, by contrast, were born in England and Luxembourg, from where his forebears eventually came to the United States toward the end of the 1800s.

That dauntless zeal was in full effect after their arrival. Nicholas, who would grow up with his four sisters and two brothers, was a child of a father who worked as a mechanical design engineer and his spouse, a nurse. He settled for a time in Texas, Kansas City, Arizona and a township called Reston in Virginia. Nicholas has taken on respected posts with businesses throughout the airline industry — most of them big names. Among these was included the post of vice president for Hughes Airwest, Trans World Airlines (TWA), and even Republic Airlines. But the airline industry has had reason to be grateful, above all, for his innovation in software design. He is highly respected for one particular project, namely his airplane maintenance programs which come into use by the majority of airlines. He designed numerous other systems for the hotel and airline sectors both before and after, including automatic routines for handling flight bookings, now in use at fifty or more firms, as well as his innovative room reservation software on the PC deployed by the hotel sector, first put to use at more than seven hundred venues. Following that came QuikTix, an automated, networked approach to ticket ordering which was an industry first. He has even taken on quite a number of roles unconnected to software development, don’t forget. With his own firm — Bredimus Systems — overseeing IT for American Express, and as the founding president of AMR Travel Services his performance is impeccable.

Having stepped back from the positions that first gave him fortune, his skills are, regardless, still very much in use. He’s at work now helping to advance architecture — matching the needs of comfort with true concern for the ecology.
