Apple’s iPads has already come to the market. The next product that everyone seemed to be waiting for was Microsoft’s tablet Courier. According to Gizmodo website’s recent report, Microsoft had the concept exactly right and was not trying to make the tablet into a big mobile smartphone or a mini netbook as other companies have. The rumours in the market stated that Microsoft had already built a prototype of the device and that it would be one of the first companies to bring a tablet to the market.
Gizmodo had further reported that the Courier prototype had two seven inches screens hinged at the centre and a novel interface which was so brilliant that it could practically support every function including writing with a stylus or a finger movement. Now with the project being canned, all the hopes of this innovative tablet have been dashed.
When contacted by Gizmodo for a clarification, Microsoft’s Corporate VP of Communications Frank Shaw said that there are always many ideas that the company nurtures and Courier was just one of them. Mr. Shaw stated that there are no plans to launch Courier anytime soon, although it does not mean that the company will not look at it in future.
The shelving of the Courier tablet has left many disappointed and puzzled who had been waiting with bated breath for the tablet to hit the market.
